Checklist

Checklist: What belongs on the website of a local business?

A good website does not have to be big, but it needs the right building blocks. This checklist shows what belongs there.

01The most important things at the top

  • One clear sentence: what do you do, for whom and where?
  • A button for calls or WhatsApp that is always visible.
  • A photo of you or your business.

02Content customers look for

  • Services or menu, described clearly.
  • Prices or at least "from" prices.
  • Opening hours and address with a map.
  • Real reviews and customer reviews.
  • Questions and answers (for example about appointments or the process).

03Technology you do not see but notice

  • Fast loading time, also on mobile.
  • Secure connection (https).
  • Clean page titles and headings so that Google understands you.
  • A form that reliably brings inquiries to you.

04Legal requirements in Germany

In Germany you need an imprint and a privacy policy. If you use statistics tools, you also need the visitors' consent. This is not legal advice; when in doubt, ask a professional.

05Check regularly

Check once or twice a year that everything is still correct: prices, opening hours, pictures and contact details.
